Kat Von D’s Racist Cotton Field Post is so on Brand
I don’t know what the fascination with slavery is for some people. I don’t get the horrible “jokes”, why referencing it is funny or clever, but I think they really ought to check themselves on it. At least to make sure that it doesn’t make its way to their professional or business pages on social media.
Case and point, the debacle that occurred this week on Kat Von D’s beauty brand’s page. For those who are unfamiliar with Kat Von D, she is a tattoo artist known for her role in the reality tv show, Miami Ink. She has also dated a slew of other reality stars and musicians and created a beauty line, Kat Von D Beauty, which is sold at Sephora and online.
What you see is a screen grab from the now deleted post shared on Kat Von D Beauty. It is of KVD’s new “Lock It” concealer in front of what appears to be a cotton field with the caption;
“Let Lock-it Concealer do all of the hard work for you…”
