Kayt,

This reaction of yours ignores the very real criticism Black Women have of White Women. It is the ENTITLEMENT to think that you can and do “understand” a community that you clearly do not. Because if she truly understood why Trap feminism, or even larger, Black feminism and Womanism exist, she would know it is because Mainstream feminism has abandoned Black Women until fairly recently.

If folks like you and Buck are so concerned with “research” then empower Black Women researchers. Better yet, pay the Black Woman who came up with the concept of Trap Feminism instead of making her a footnote in Buck’s book.

To ignore the voices of the women from the community which Buck attempts to write about for the “sake of research” is not only the same thing she’s guilty of, but it is that same entitled audacity that ignores the humanity of a group for personal gain that has begotten some of history’s worst atrocities. Maybe rethink this a bit, Kayt.
